Jewelry Care

How do I take care of my Jewelry?

Caring for your Stainless Steel Jewelry

Stainless Steel does not tarnish.  To easily bring back it's shine, just soak in water with a bit of soap (dish soap works best).  Use a soft-bristle brush, like a baby toothbrush, to gently scrub away any dirt or grime. Rinse with warm water and gently dry with a soft towel and air dry completely before wearing. The same process is used to clean our creations that contain cotton, hemp, or leather cords.

What about Bright Aluminum?

Just like Stainless Steel, Bright Aluminum does not tarnish and is easy to care for. Use the same technique as Stainless Steel to clean Bright Aluminum to bring back its shine.

Caring for your Copper, Brass and Bronze Jewelry

  • Keep in cool, dry place.  The metal naturally darkens over time, and heat will cause the natural patina to occur faster.  Ideally place your item in a ziploc, resealable bag with an anti-tarnish strip (we include one for every order) to keep air out.
  • Remove before getting into any water.  This includes swimming, washing hands and dishes, and bathing.
  • Remove before going to sleep.  The metal is soft and may bend as you turn during the night. Use a polishing cloth for everyday cleaning. Rub the surface with enough force to clean but not to bend the metal.
  • To remove tarnish, soak your item in lemon juice with a pinch of salt. Soak for about 10 minutes at a time, and use a soft bristle brush to scrub the item if needed.  Rinse with warm water and dry with a soft cloth.
